To celebrate World Book Day, Nairn Academy is participating in the 100 million minutes challenge.
This is a National Reading initiative which, together with schools up and down the country, is aiming to achieve a collective 100 million minutes of reading time.
Research shows that just 10 minutes of reading a day can have a massive impact on a child’s development so we are happy to support this positive initiative.
The challenge will kick off on World Book Day (Thursday 1st March) and run until Thursday 29th March.
Pupils will be given a bookmark to record their personal reading times throughout the month. At the end of the month the minutes will be totalled for each pupil and the winner will receive a prize.
Prizes are also on offer to the schools which record the highest number of collective minutes.
