This event was organised by Donald Hall, Community Sports Hub Officer, Andrea MacKenzie, Active School Coordinator and Nairn Academy PE Dept where S1 and S2 pupils got the opportunity to learn about and experience a variety of different sports available in the local community. The majority of the pupils were engaged and made the best use of the short time to move around nine activities and four information stalls. There were a range of activities on offer, including Badminton, Boccia, Dance, Gymnastics, Orienteering and many more. There was a mental health stall and CPR training sessions provided by High Life Highland libraries and facilities staff. Nairn Sailing club displayed a fully rigged sailing dinghy in the Games Hall. Ewan MacDonald, local Olympian and multiple World Curling champion attended the event and encouraged pupils to try Indoor Curling with support from Nairn Curling Club. Pupils also took part in a sports quiz and the winners Struan Fuller S1 and Peter Fonseca S2 received vouchers and a tee-shirt donated by Nairn Sailing Club. At the end of the event, club coaches and staff got together to discuss future links and try some tasty homemade cake.
