Welcome to Chemistry!
Why study Chemistry?
Chemistry is everywhere in the world and around you. It’s in the food you eat, clothes you wear, water you drink, medicines, air and cosmetics. Chemistry is sometimes called the central science because it connects other sciences to each other.
Many careers are directly linked with Chemistry, including Industrial Chemistry, Medicine, Pharmacy-based jobs, Agriculture, Food Science etc.
As a subject for study leading to scientific qualifications, Chemistry complements Physics on the one hand, and Biology on the other. Many career opportunities require 2 science subjects as entry qualifiations.
The course we offer in the department include:
National 3, 4 and 5
Intermediate 2 Chemistry
Advanced Higher Chemistry
