Chromebook Rollout Update June 2019
Nairn Academy is due to receive Chromebooks for all pupils in the near future. These devices will be signed out to go home with pupils as part of a Highland-wide initiative to provide greater equity and access to education. In order for a young person to be assigned a Chromebook, they must have signed and returned a copy of the Acceptable Use Policy (which we distributed last year in preparation) and a Chromebook contract. These Contracts will be distributed via registration this week. These need to be signed by both parent / carers and pupils. In addition, pupils will also need a protective case or school bag with a protective section within it. Any pupil entitled to free school meals will have a protective case provided. Other cases can be purchased locally or online from £5.49. Once contracts are signed, they should be returned to reception where a box will be located.
More information can be found in the attached documents. The PPT from our ASG parents info session earlier in the year has also been included. The documents provide information around charging, insurance, damage etc. and other frequently asked questions.
We hope to start distributing Chromebooks to Senior Phase pupils before the holidays, and to S1-3 in the first weeks back, depending on actual delivery dates.
